Shaw’s Offers Sizzlin’ Summer Giveaway

New England grocery chain Shaw’s has introduced the Sizzlin’ Summer Giveaway, which enables customers to collect game tickets for a chance to win cars, boats, vacations, gift cards, free products and many cash prizes, including a guaranteed $1 million. Shoppers can earn game tickets through Aug. 23 while supplies last at participating Shaw’s and Star Market stores.

“Shaw’s Sizzlin’ Summer Giveaway is going to provide some exciting opportunities for customers to win some life-changing prizes, including a guaranteed $1 million winner,” said Mike Stigers, president of West Bridgewater, Mass.-based Shaw’s. “As we launch into the summer season, the Sizzlin’ Summer Giveaway will help us showcase our stores and products while creating a fun atmosphere for our customers and associates. In addition, it encourages our customers to earn game tickets by purchasing items important to their summer cooking and entertaining.”

Customers can earn a game piece with qualifying purchases each time they shop, and can earn additional game pieces by using the Shaw’s Rewards Card and buying participating products at a Shaw’s or Star Market store. Game boards are also available, while supplies last, so shoppers can see how close they are to winning a prize. As well as the collect-and-win prizes, the promotion will offer millions of instant-win prizes and in-store discounts.

The $1 million guaranteed prize will be awarded as a 30-year annuity, paid out in equal installments of $33,333.33 a year, with no interest accruing. If not won in the game, there will be a second-chance drawing to award the prize.
