Roundy's to Standardize Employee Deployment, Tracking With Kronos

CHELMSFORD, Mass. - Roundy's, Inc. is upgrading its
Kronos, Inc. solutions to centralize and optimize the deployment and tracking of its 17,000 retail operations and distribution center employees.

Kronos' time and labor and scheduling solutions are aimed at helping Roundy's reduce labor costs, boost store productivity, and improve customer satisfaction across all of the chain's 120 stores, which operate under banners such as Copp's Food Centers, Pick 'n Save, and Rainbow Foods.

As a result of Roundy's continued growth through acquisitions and increased retail sales, Kronos says Roundy's recognized the need to consolidate disparate systems and standardize its work force management process across the organization. In addition to reducing operational bottlenecks and consolidating store and employee data onto a single database, Kronos will provide Roundy's with a fully integrated solution that ensures strict compliance with employee work rules and enables rapid deployment across all stores and business units.

With improved visibility of sales and labor data, managers across the chain will have timely access to key performance metrics from which they can make better decisions. Demand-driven labor forecasts and optimized employee schedules will ensure an accurate and consistent process that enables managers to deliver the best possible in-store customer experience.

From an operations perspective, Roundy's sees many tangible benefits to the integrated Kronos solution, according to the company, including employee schedules being tied into demand, budgets, and forecasts constructed from historical customer traffic data.

In addition to being able to reduce operational costs related to scheduling, employee turnover also will decrease because the schedules generated will be better aligned with work/life preferences.
