ROFDA, Rosie Bringing Online Shopping to Indies

10/18/2017

Retailer Owned Food Distributors & Associates (ROFDA) and Rosie have partnered to bring Rosie’s online shopping platform to 2,000 independent grocery stores across the country over the next two years. The partnership will provide omnichannel online shopping programs, education on best practices for digital engagement, and technology leadership to independent stores by harnessing the cooperation of the nation’s wholesalers to provide an advanced, affordable ecommerce solution and create a level, competitive playing field.

ROFDA has more than 7,300 member retail locations and represents more than $18.7 billion in annual wholesale sales, and the partnership with Rosie is in line with its mission “to leverage all available resources, industry best practices, and business relationships to provide added value” to independent grocers.

“From the very beginning, our relationship with Rosie has been based on a mutual commitment to the success of our independent grocers. It’s through our mutual interest that we are delighted to announce ROFDA’s eCommerce Partnership Program with Rosie," said Francis Cameron, president and CEO of Pinson, Ala.-based ROFDA. "This program delivers a solid ecommerce strategy that will allow our independent grocers to better serve the needs of their customers today, tomorrow and well into the future."

With the partnership, Rosie continues to transform the way independents engage digitally with their customers. “Our mission has always been to not only provide technology solutions, but also everything a grocer needs to leverage that technology to engage shoppers and win in a rapidly evolving marketplace,” said Rosie COO and ROFDA Advisory Council member  Jon Ambrose. “Rosie and ROFDA are leveling the playing field by enabling leading local retailers and their wholesalers to cooperate, innovate and unite to compete with national chains and online-only merchants.”

Independent grocers can join the eCommerce Partnership Program by contacting Ithaca, N.Y.-based Rosie or their ROFDA-member wholesaler.
