Robert E. Rich Sr. Chairman's Award Presented to Four Students
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- In recognition of their outstanding academic achievement and continued passion for pursuing careers in the food industry, Rich Products Corp. here recently awarded four undergraduate students its annual Robert E. Rich Chairman's Award.
This year's recipients are: Lindsay Seagull, Culinary Institute of America, $3,000; Greg Astudillo, Johnson & Wales University, $3,000; Benjamin Justus, Cornell University School of Hotel Admin., $2,000; and Jillian Doran, Cornell University Food Industry Mgmt., $2,000.
The scholarship was established in 2003 by Rich Products in honor of the 90th birthday of the late Robert E. Rich, Sr., the company's founder and former chairman. Through the National Restaurant Association's Educational Foundation (NRAEF), Rich pledged $90,000 to underwrite four annual scholarships for the next nine years for undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing careers in the restaurant and foodservice industry.
