Ring. Bros. Marketplace to Hold Fall Festival of Wine and Food

Ring Bros Marketplace said it will hold its sixth annual Fall Festival of Wine and Food November 8, featuring more than 75 wines and hundreds of gourmet food samples, all to the accompaniment of live music by The Bart Weisman Jazz Group.

"We have vendors calling us to participate in the festival because they know it is a great way for a lot of people to try their new products," said Pat Ring, grocery manager for Ring Bros, "Every year it gets bigger and bigger. Some of the vendors scheduled to be at the festival this year are; Pain D'Avignon, local ice cream favorite Sundae School, The Republic of Tea, and Sunkist Naturals."

Every department in the marketplace - each an individually-owned store -- will also have samples of its homemade items, including Spinner's gourmet pizzas, Nata's Noodles appetizers and desserts, Chatham Fish's crab and scallop cakes, and Dark Horse's meats and deli items.

"We love festival day, our customers are able to try new items we have developed," said Rita MacLeland, owner of Spinner's Pizza and Burrito.

Harney's Wine and Liquors' "Grand Wine Tasting" will offer over 75 fine wines from around the world. "With the holidays right around the corner this is an excellent opportunity to try some new wines for the dinner table," said Marc Reingold, owner of Harney's Liquors. "Representatives from major wineries will be on hand to answer questions about their offerings."

Chef Jan Wright from Scargo CafE will hold a special cooking demonstration of appetizers. Wright has an associate degree in culinary arts and a bachelor's in food service management from Johnson & Wales, and has been in the restaurant business for 30 years, 17 of which has been with Scargo CafE, which features what it calls "an eclectic menu," ranging from Cajun to Asian, New England to Italian.

As is traditional for these events, Ring will hold a raffle to benefit the Harwich Family Food Pantry with a grand prize of a Thanksgiving Gift Basket worth $250.
