Rice Epicurean Carries Dorothy Lane's Renowned 'Killer Brownies'<br />

If the adage is true that "life is short, so eat dessert first," then Rice Epicurean Markets will help customers make a meal out of their latest signature bakery offering with the arrival of Killer Brownies, an import from the Midwest and independent grocer Dorothy Lane Market.

Available in a variety of flavors and each weighing approximately one-third of a pound, Killer Brownies are being made available to Rice Epicurean Markets through an exclusive licensing agreement.

"Killer Brownies have developed a cult following throughout the Midwest," said Gary Friedlander, president of Rice Epicurean. Made from a closely guarded recipe originally created in the 1980's by the acclaimed Dayton, Ohio-based Dorothy Lane Markets, the brownies have been praised by food critics worldwide.

Rice Epicurean Markets is offering the brownies in all five of its stores, as well as online via its Web site: http://www.RiceEpicurean.com.

They can be purchased individually, in party trays or gift tins and are available in multiple varieties.

Founded in 1937, Rice Epicurean Markets is the oldest family-owned supermarket chain in Houston. Each of its five locations is merchandised to be in tune with its particular neighborhood.

Rice Epicurean Markets also offers online shopping where customers can shop for groceries and have their orders delivered to their home or office or made available for pick-up at one of the stores.
