Publix Sponsoring the Southern Living Cook-Off 2006
LAKELAND, Fla. -- Publix Super Markets here is sponsoring the Southern Living Cook-Off 2006, which features a $100,000 prize for the winning recipe.
Customers can enter their favorite recipe in any of the five categories: Your Best Recipe, Super-Quick Family Favorites, Southern Desserts, Healthy and Good for You, and Party Starters. All entries received via mail must be postmarked by June 7 and received by June 14, 2006. Entries received online must be received by midnight EST June 7, 2006.
In October 2006, 15 finalists will compete in the final cook-off, held in Charleston, S.C. The contestants will vie for the $100,000 grand prize plus a $10,000 donation to the winner’s favorite charity. Category winners will receive $10,000.
Cook-Off 2006 winners will also be featured in the January 2007 issue of Southern Living magazine.
In other Publix news, the chain's Miami division said it has raised nearly $1 million to fund South Florida anti-hunger non-profit agencies through a Food For All campaign. Publix said executives will present checks to 38 non-profit organizations on March 14.
