Price Chopper Honors Vets with Extra Gas Discount

More than 19,000 of Kansas City’s veterans took advantage of Price Chopper’s offer to save a little more money at the gas pump.

On Sunday, Nov. 11, veterans were invited to stop by any of the Kansas City Metro’s 49 Price Chopper stores and load a 25-cent-a-gallon discount off fuel at QuikTrip. This bonus reward for veterans is part of Price Chopper’s Fuel Rewards program.

“Everyone at Price Chopper greatly appreciates the sacrifice Kansas City’s veterans have made for our country,” says Casie Broker, director of marketing for Price Chopper. “We were happy to see so many of our hometown veterans accept our bonus Fuel Reward as our way of saying ‘thank you.’”

More than 470,000 Price Chopper customers have participated in the Fuel Rewards program, launched in October 2010. The program allows Chopper Shopper Rewards cardholders to earn 5 cents-per-gallon discounts good at Kansas City QuikTrip’s for every $50 spent on qualifying products during a shopping trip. A new component to the program, called Fuel Plus, brings additional gas discounts when customers purchase hundreds of specially marked products throughout the store.
