Piggly Wiggly Debuts Double-coupon Offer

Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co. has begun doubling manufacturers’ coupons up to a face value of 99 cents, with a limit of 10 coupons per household/customer per day. The policy, which began Sept. 7, is new for the Charlotte, S.C.-based grocer and “just another way The Pig feeds its customers’ lives without starving their wallets,” the company noted.

Shoppers who present manufacturers’ coupons at checkout along with The Pig Card can take advantage of the offer. Any coupons over the 10-coupon limit will be redeemed at face value. Orders may not be separated to allow the limit to be exceeded. The total value of a coupon may not exceed $1.98 or the entire retail value of the item, whichever is less. Coupons will only be doubled on a maximum of four “like” items, which includes different flavors/varieties.

Along with the double-coupon offer, Piggly Wiggly has kicked off a monthlong sweepstakes in which one winner each week will take home a $200 gift card.

The grocer plans to run the double-coupon offer indefinitely, a company spokeswoman told Progressive Grocer.
