Nominations Sought for 2006 Global Electronic Marketing Awards

MORRISTOWN, N.J. -- Nominations are now being accepted for the 2006 Global Electronic Marketing (GEM) Awards, which will be presented at the 15th annual GEMCON conference October 9-11 in Park City, Utah.

The GEM Awards, hosted by electronic marketing consulting firm Ogden Associates and sponsored this year by Accenture, were created to recognize excellence in customer-specific, technology-enabled marketing on the part of retailers, manufacturers, and technology suppliers.

The criteria for the 2006 GEM Awards seek to identify companies and programs that exemplify vision, strategy, execution, and innovation in meeting and exceeding the expectations of customers.

This year's panel of judges includes Mike Gorshe, senior retail industry executive at Accenture; Stephen Sibert, group v.p., industry affairs and membership, Grocery Manufacturers of America; Paula Payton of the Oxford (University) Institute of Retail Management; Kevin Coupe, founder and "content guy" of MorningNewsBeat.com; and Robertson and Carlene Thissen of Ogden Associates.

Past GEM Awards recipients include Big Y Supermarkets, Associated Wholesale Grocers, Harris Teeter, Pathmark, Spartan Stores, Stop & Shop, Coca-Cola USA, Kraft Foods, The Pillsbury Company, Catalina Marketing, and NCR, as well as internationally recognized retailers such as Migros Switzerland and SuperQuinn of Dublin, Ireland.

The deadline for nominations is Aug. 18. GEMCON is produced by Ogden Associates.
