NFRA Names New Officers and Directors

The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) said it elected its association officers and members of the board of directors for 2008-2009, at its annual membership meeting held in conjunction with the NFRA Convention in San Diego.

NFRA said it elected Gary Spinazze, v.p. vendor relations, Nash Finch Company, as chairman of the board. Spinazze has been a board member since 2002. He was secretary from 2006-2007, and chairman-elect from 2007-2008.

Other officers sworn in at the Harrisburg, Pa.-based association's annual meeting were Travis Hubbard, Harris Teeter, chairman-elect; Jeff Thomas, Michael Foods, Inc., secretary; Ray Tarnowski, Philadelphia Warehouse & Cold Storage, treasurer; John Larsen, Safeway, Inc., vice chairman refrigerated; and Bob Montgomery, Birds Eye Foods, Inc., vice chairman frozen.

Newly elected to the board were: John Arnold, Sargento Foods, Inc.; David Davis, Welch's Foods; Kevin Jordan, Kraft Cheese & Dairy Division; Chris Kiser, Pinnacle Foods Group; John Kunkel, Nestle USA; Scott O'Hara, Kellogg Company; and David Welch, Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc.

Elected for a second term were: Bob Branham, General Mills; James Dorey, Wakefern Food Corp.; Scott Haws, Land O' Lakes Foods, Inc.; Dan MacPhee, Masters Gallery Foods, Inc.; and Jim Murphy, Dannon Company.
