New Wal-Mart TV Ads Tout Values, Health Care, Savings, Philanthropy

BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- Wal-Mart's image-repair campaign continues, as the retailer yesterday said it is airing two television advertisements to drive home the impression that it treats employees, customers, and surrounding communities well.

"The more people learn about who we are and how we strive to do better every day, the more they know that we are good for America's working families," said Bob McAdam, v.p. of corporate affairs, in a statement.

The spots reinforce Wal-Mart's stance that it has a positive impact on communities, and offers affordable health care, customer savings, and charitable contributions.

The latest ads will initially be launched in two markets: Tucson, Ariz. and Omaha, Neb., the company said.
