National Grocers Association Offers Independent Growth Program
The National Grocers Association is addressing the multifaceted business issues faced by independent supermarket operators with its new Sustainable Business Growth Strategies program, an education program that provides in-depth training to develop a strategic business plan.
The inaugural meeting will take place Sept. 11-15, 2016 at Cornell University and is open to NGA retail and wholesale members.
The program, sponsored by Unilever, provides independent operators with tools and resources to help guide their organizations through the rapidly changing grocery industry, covering such topics as consumer trends, areas of differentiation, change management and workforce diversity.
To be successful, independent retailers have to adapt quickly and evolve to meet shifting demands, said Peter Larkin, NGA president/CEO. “The Sustainable Business Growth Strategies program aims to help independent supermarket executives who are already leading organizations to further grow financial and sustainability success within their business,” Larkin added.
