Nash Finch Names Voss Non-exec Chairman
MINNEAPOLIS -- Wholesaler Nash Finch here named William R. Voss non-executive chairman of the board for Nash Finch here, succeeding Allister P. Graham, who was named chairman emeritus and will continue as a director of the company.
Voss is a food industry veteran. A Nash Finch director since November 1998 -- and a member of the audit, corporate governance and compensation committees -- Voss, 52, is founder and managing director of Lake Pacific Partners, LLC, a private equity investment firm primarily focused on consumer products, consumer services, and related industries. Voss was founder, chairman and c.e.o. of Natural Nutrition Group, Inc., and also served as c.e.o. of McCain Foods, Inc., president of Pilgrims Pride Corp. and a principal with Booz, Allen & Hamilton management consultants.

Graham has been a member of the Nash Finch Board since 1992. He was named non-executive chairman in March 2000, and served as interim c.e.o. from February 2006 until Covington's arrival on May 1.
Nash Finch's core business is food distribution, serving independent retailers and military commissaries in 31 states, the District of Columbia, Europe, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Iceland, the Azores and Honduras. The company also owns and operates a base of retail stores, primarily supermarkets, under the Econofoods, Family Thrift Center, and Sun Mart trade names.
