Minnesota Grocers Assoc. Names Best in Industry

The Minnesota Grocers Association, St. Paul, Minn., presented several awards at its MGA Annual Conference, held recently in Prior Lake, Minn.

The 2015 Outstanding Grocer award was given to Dennis and Elliot Christensen, owners of Elden’s Fresh Foods in Alexandria, for creating a thriving business, meeting the changing needs in their community and actively participating in the association.

Chris Johnson, VP of sales retail West for Crystal Farms in Minnetonka, was named the 2015 Outstanding Vendor. He was honored for his innovation in customer support and excellent customer service.

MGA also posthumously inducted Chris Thorvig of Chris’ Food Center in Sandstone into the Hall of Fame. He was recognized for his outstanding service and contributions to the association. Thorvig was known for his commitment to his community, his employees and the food industry.
