Michael Eisner to Keynote GMA Exec Conference
Michael Eisner, former Walt Disney Co. CEO and entertainment business veteran, will deliver the annual Chairman’s Lecture at the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) Executive Conference on Aug. 21 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
“Michael Eisner has earned a place among the all-time leading innovators in the entertainment industry,” said Pamela G. Bailey, president and CEO of Washington-based GMA. “With his extensive knowledge and experience of successful business partnerships, Eisner will provide unique insight into what it takes for a company to continue to compete in a changing global marketplace.”
Aided by Eisner’s strategy of concentrating on the power of ideas, pursuing innovation and taking creative risks, Walt Disney Co. revenues increased from $1.7 billion to more than $30 billion. He has also led other organizations known for their inventiveness and out-of-the box thinking.
In his lecture, Eisner will share his ideas on what it takes to run a company that must constantly evolve to compete well in the marketplace, discussing what works and what doesn’t. He’ll also provide an inside look at some of the best business partnerships and the reasons for their success, using as an example his own highly effective collaboration with Frank Wells at Disney.
“Eisner’s selection as the Chairman’s Lecture speaker provides a valuable opportunity for conference attendees to gain relevant business and leadership insight from an established peer that brings a fresh perspective from an equally challenging industry,” observed Bailey.
