Meijer Annual LPGA Classic Slated for July 21-26

Meijer's annual LPGA Classic, slated this year for July 21-26 at Blythefiled Country Club in Belmont, Mich., will once again coincide with the retailer's "Simply Give" program, which aims to help feed the hungry in Meijer's operating region.

Presented by Kraft, the event will host 144 participants playing 72 holes of stroke play over four days of competition. Last year's LPGA Classic raised $600,000 for Simply Give, which, since its inception in 2008, has raised nearly $14 million for food pantries across the Midwest.

As part of the four-day event, Kraft has teamed up with General Mills to provide a community concert featuring OneRepublic on July 25 at Van Andel Arena. Tickets are on sale now and start at $25 each; proceeds will also benefit Simply Give.

"This year's Meijer LPGA Classic presented by Kraft will once again bring top talent – on the stage and the golf course – to Grand Rapids," Meijer President J.K. Symancyk said. "We are pleased to partner with General Mills once again this year, and believe the community will embrace the opportunity to hear the musical talents of OneRepublic."
