Marsh Offers Holiday Telephone Ordering

INDIANAPOLIS - Marsh Supermarkets has launched a special telephone service through which consumers can order party and deli trays, fruit baskets, bakery goods, floral arrangements, and gift cards for the holidays and pick up the items at any Marsh location.

The free service, which was launched Monday, will continue to be available throughout the year through the company's Customer Service Call Center Department, according to Don E. Marsh, chairman and c.e.o.

To use the telephone ordering service, customers dial 1-866-MARSH-4-U. Each transaction is assigned a unique order number by the call center order entry system. After placing their orders, customers go on a designated date to pick up and pay for their orders at the Marsh Customer Service Desks in the stores they selected.

The telephone hotline will operate Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Phone orders aren't available on Sundays. The standard lead time for filling an order will be four hours.

Customers will have a wide-ranging menu of food options from which to choose.

Meanwhile all Marsh stores will host a "Taste of the Holidays" open house on Saturday, Nov. 6, to demonstrate their special holiday products and takeout orders for holiday pickups. The holiday open house will be staged from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day.

"Holidays can be a hectic time, especially for anyone who prepares meals," said Marsh. "Our objective is to make the shopping process as easy as possible and to help customers save more time for their families."

Marsh Supermarkets operates 67 Marsh Supermarkets, 39 LoBill Foods stores, one Savin*$, one Arthur's Fresh Market, 164 Village Pantry convenience stores, and eight O'Malia Food Markets in Central Indiana and Western Ohio.
