Loblaw Offers Gas Discount in Western Canada

Loblaw Cos., Ltd. has rolled out a gas discount program that runs from Aug. 2 through Aug. 15 at Real Canadian Superstores in the western Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Consumers in the region could experience savings of up to 35 cents per liter at Superstore Gas Bars, according to the grocer.

For every $100 in groceries, shoppers can save 10 cents per liter, for every $150 in groceries, they can save 15 cents per liter, and for every $200 in groceries, they can save 25 cents. Consumer can save an additional 10 cents when they pay with a President's Choice Financial MasterCard at a Superstore Gas Bar.

"We have listened to our customers -- the price of gas has had an impact on Canadian wallets and Loblaw wants to help ease the burden," noted Loblaw v.p. public affairs and investor relations Inge van den Berg. "Superstore has always offered great value to its customers and now the Gas Savings Event allows our loyal customers to let their groceries drive them home."

To take part, shoppers must first get a coupon from the www.superstore.ca/west Web site or at a Real Canadian Superstore location in the above-named provinces. To redeem for gas savings, customers have to present a valid Superstore receipt with the coupon at the Superstore Gas Bar.
