Lidl Reveals 4 New Stores in Richmond, VA
Lidl will open four more Virginia stores, all within in the greater Richmond area, on July 27, according to a published report. The company will roll out one location each in Chester and North Chesterfield, and two in Henrico County, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported, noting that the stores are the German deep discounter’s first in the area.
As with the chain’s previous U.S. stores, the first 100 customers to show up on opening day will receive a wooden coin for the chance to win up to $100 in Lidl gift cards, and shoppers will also be able to sample a range of the retailer’s products and get a free reusable bag while supplies last.
Lidl, whose U.S. headquarters are in Virginia’s Arlington County, opened its first U.S. stores, including locations in Hampton and Virginia Beach, on June 15. Another four stores, among them locations in Chesapeake and Culpeper, Va., are slated to open their doors on July 13.
According to Times-Dispatch, the retailer has at least three additional stores under development in the Richmond area, but no opening dates for those locations have been announced yet.
