Kroger Names New Presidents of Roundy's, Mariano's

The Kroger Co. has named Michael Marx to serve as president of Roundy's Supermarket, Wisconsin, while Don Rosanova has taken the helm of Mariano's, also as president. Both Marx and Rosanova will report to Roundy's CEO Bob Mariano.

Most recently VP of people operations for Kroger, Marx was named VP of transition of Kroger's general office in Cincinnati in 2011, and prior to that served as VP of operations and director of regional operations for the Southwest division. Earlier in his career, Marx served in store and district management, as well as produce, floral and as natural foods merchandising.

Rosanova, who before his promotion was EVP of operations for Roundy's since 2006, previously served as group VP-supply. Before his tenure at Roundy's, he held positions with foodservice supplier Don & Company, and with Dominick's.

Bob Mariano lauded Marx's "knowledge of store operations and merchandising" as well as his "expertise in human resources and organizational effectiveness," while also making note of Rosanova's "passion for excellence," which Mariano said has "made him a well-respected leader within the Roundy's and retail grocery community."

The Kroger Co. operates 2,778 retail food stores under a variety of local banner names in 35 states and the District of Columbia.
