Kentucky Grocer and C-Store Groups' Convention Will Be 'Kentucky Proud'
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Kentucky Grocers Association and Kentucky Association of Convenience Stores (KGA/KACS) here unveiled a new convention partnership agreement with the "Kentucky Proud" unit of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA).
This year's KGA/KACS annual convention includes the addition of the groups' retail excellence conference and will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Oct. 17-19 in Lexington, Ken.
The Food Marketing Institute's Michael Sansolo and Gray Taylor from the National Association of Convenience Stores will keynote the opening Retail Excellence Conference sessions.
Kentucky Proud is a state-led initiative dedicated to providing assistance to Kentucky's farmers in converting to alternative crops and products other than tobacco. Louisville -based Allied Food Marketers, contracted by the Governor's Office of Agricultural Policy (GOAP), works directly with the KDA to provide assist the state's farmers and food producers with product development and business models that will move Kentucky agriculture closer to the consumer.
The multi-year agreement co-locates the annual KGA/KACS Convention with the "Kentucky Proud" Expo through 2009.
