Jet Officially Debuts PL Essentials Line

Jet.com has officially launched Uniquely J, a line of private label essentials designed with Jet consumers – busy, discerning shoppers – in mind, and offering 50 “carefully curated” SKUs across the cleaning, coffee, laundry, pantry, paper and food-storage categories.

Uniquely J products were developed with key qualities Jet shoppers seek, including plant-based ingredients in cleaning products, USDA Certified organic and Fair Trade Certified coffee beans, and BPA-free plastics in food storage bags. All products boast “bold and beautiful” packaging designed by artists from across the globe who partnered with Jet.

“We’re excited to introduce Uniquely J to consumers, confident that they’ll embrace the products and soon begin to consider them essential to their day-to-day shopping,” said Liza Landsman, president of Jet.com. “Uniquely J is not just Jet.com’s entry into the private-brands space, it also furthers our efforts to serve the metropolitan consumer with a select assortment of premium products while also offering them a great shopping experience.”

Among the Uniquely J products available at launch are Organic Sriracha Sauce, 16-ounce; Organic Teriyaki Sauce, 14-ounce; Clean Living All Purpose Cleaner, Lemon Thyme Basil, 28-ounce; Clean Living All Purpose Cleaning Wipes, Lemon Thyme Basil, 75-count; Clean Living Sport Laundry Detergent 2x Strength, Bamboo Cedar, 33 loads; Ultra Strong Toilet Paper, 12 double rolls; Double Seal Sandwich Bags, 100-count; Organic and Fair Trade Medium Roast Ground Coffee, Peruvian, 16-ounce; and Organic Medium Salsa, 16-ounce. Products were developed to be attractive in price as much as in design – for instance, a 54-count box of Uniquely J single-cup coffee will run 37 cents per cup, while a 100-loads box of Uniquely J Liquid Laundry Detergent 2X Strength, in Lavender White Tea scent, will cost 19 cents per load.

“Uniquely J was created to make it easier for busy consumers to get their everyday essentials without having to give up the things they care about," added Dan Hooker, general manager, private brands, Jet.com and Walmart ecommerce. "With Uniquely J, we want to eliminate the trade-offs consumers face; the purchase decision becomes an easy one when each product offers the trifecta of quality, style and value.”

Consumers can shop Uniquely J via www.jet.com/uniquelyj. More products will be added to the brand in the coming months and continuously over time.

The debut follows reports from The Wall Street Journal that the Walmart subsidiary planned to launch a line of food and household items geared toward the “metro Millennial consumer.” The move was said to be part of a “broader effort” by Marc Lore, president and CEO of Walmart U.S. ecommerce, to provide specialty goods via Jet that can't be purchased elsewhere, including Walmart, thereby helping to differentiate the Hoboken, N.J.-based ecommerce retailer from its Bentonville, Ark.-based parent.
