Ivy to Be Next American Egg Board C.E.O.

PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- The American Egg Board (AEB) has confirmed the executive committee's choice of Joanne C. Ivy to succeed Louis B. Raffel as president and c.e.o. when he retires at the end of the year. The confirmation took place at American Egg Board meeting this month, in Charleston, S.C. Ivy is currently the board's s.v.p.

The executive committee selected Ivey after interviewing several other candidates for the position. Ivy has served on the staff of AEB, in positions of increasing responsibility, for 20 years. Before coming to the board, Ivy was executive director of the North Carolina Egg Association.

Last year Ivy received the International Egg Commission's Denis Welstead Memorial Trophy as the International Egg Person of the Year. Additionally, she has chaired the marketing committee for the International Egg Commission for 12 years, and currently is an officeholder and holds a seat on the executive committee of the organization.

Ivy will become only the AEB's second c.e.o., since Raffel has served in that capacity since the program began in 1976. She will assume the presidency Jan. 1, 2007.
