IRI Launches Alcoholic Beverage Reporting Tool
CHICAGO -- Market research firm Information Resources, Inc. (IRI), yesterday launched a Web-based store-level reporting suite that provides quantifiable performance metrics for beer, wine, and spirits manufacturers and distributors.
Called IRI InfoBeverage, the solution addresses the needs of manufacturers and distributors in the beverage alcohol industry to have access to consumer sales data, so they can manage inventory levels, oversee distribution, and tailor promotional activities.
According to IRI, collecting and reporting this data has traditionally been difficult due to industry limitations, governmental sales and distribution regulations, and a three-tier distribution system. InfoBeverage provides users the flexibility to select their own store clusters, the opportunity to discover the performance ranking for stores or products, and the ability to drive business using a store-level competitive view of the marketplace.
"Retailers have provided manufacturers with data in the past, but typically it has been manufacturer-specific and doesn't offer a competitive view at the store level," said IRI president and c.e.o. Scott W. Klein in a statement. "InfoBeverage fills this void by providing the beverage alcohol industry's only market-by-market performance insights. By leveraging this reporting suite, users can easily understand how they stack up against the competition and how their overall brand and category is performing within the marketplace at specific stores and against other categories."
The InfoBeverage reporting suite allows manufacturers and distributors to run reports on all three beverage alcohol categories--beer, wine, and spirits--through an on-demand Web site. The following four reports are available:
-- Store Rank Report: Ranks store sales within a predetermined geography for a combination of subcategories or a total of beer, wine, and spirits categories
-- SKU Efficiency Report: Ranks SKUs in a specific category or a combination of categories
-- Brand Scorecard: Focuses on the performance of a single brand
-- Brand Efficiency Report: Ranks brands in a specific category or a combination of categories
InfoBeverage reports are available for both individual stores and for store clusters. It allows users to create their own store clusters and geographies, save previous work such as store lists and specified geographies, and develop new listings each time they use the various reports.
