IDDBA Relocates Convention Venue from New Orleans to Orlando
MADISON, Wis. -- The International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association (IDDBA) based here has relocated its annual seminar and expo, Dairy-Deli-Bake 2006, to the Orlando Convention Center, Orlando, Fla., June 11 to June 13.
The IDDBA board of directors voted to move the event -- originally scheduled to take place in New Orleans -- in light of the devastation resulting from Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath.
On a related note, IDDBA's board unanimously approved a $100,000 donation to the New Orleans Public Schools to replace school and library books damaged in the floods following Hurricane Katrina. “Our thoughts and best wishes are with the citizens and businesses that have suffered from the hurricanes. We thank the many members who have made donations on their own to help with the rebuilding process,” said the organization's executive director Carol Christison.
