Healthnotes Launches Counter Top EasyAnswers Touchscreen
PORTLAND, Ore. - To help retail pharmacies and supermarkets provide an interactive health and wellness resource in-store at a reference desk or department counter, Healthnotes Inc. (HNI) announced today the launch of the new EasyAnswers Touchscreen Counter Top kiosk.
There will be a preview of the compact touchscreen kiosk at NACDS Marketplace, June 21-24, 2004 in San Diego. The final prototype will be available at the HNI booth (#653) on the main show floor.
The Counter Top kiosk was especially designed to fit on a reference desk, product shelf, or pharmacy counter, offering greater flexibility for placement within a store.
"As more and more consumers strive to live healthier lives, pharmacies and supermarkets are looking for comprehensive, easy-to-implement programs they can use to educate their customers on complex health and wellness issues," said Schuyler Lininger, HNI president and c.e.o. "Healthnotes is proud to offer an expanding family of kiosk hardware options, allowing retailers to locate interactive health resources anywhere in the store where shoppers need them -- from an end cap display or product shelf, to a reference desk area or pharmacy counter."
The Counter Top unit is a smaller version of the standard EasyAnswers Touchscreen Pedestal kiosk, which was introduced in January 2004. The Counter Top kiosk features health-related graphics and built-in user instructions on a steel enclosure, and is configured to run Healthnotes Healthy Living or Healthnotes Pharmacy software.
Healthnotes Healthy Living and Healthnotes Pharmacy provide consumer-friendly, science-based information on health concerns, supplements, foods, nutrition, special diets, and weight control, as well as hundreds of recipes. Healthnotes Pharmacy also has more than 2,000 patient education monographs (PEMs) covering over 10,000 OTC and prescription medications. The articles, PEMs, and recipes can be printed directly from the kiosk at no charge.
EasyAnswers Touchscreen kiosks, among them the new Counter Top unit, are available for purchase or lease through HNI. The kiosks are "plug-and-play" units that are easy for retailers to install and maintain. Custom colors and branding options are available. The six Healthnotes and Foodnotes kiosk applications require an annual software subscription. Pricing for both hardware and software varies, depending on quantity purchased.
