Harvest Market, Kraft Host Special Olympians

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Harvest Market of Bedford and Harvest Market of Hollis recently joined with Kraft Foods, Inc. to host New Hampshire Special Olympics athletes at Merchantsauto.com Stadium here for a game featuring the state's minor-league baseball team.

"Harvest Market is always looking for ways to give back to our community and our customers," noted Janice Clark, Harvest Market of Bedford store manager, in a statement, "and Kraft Foods worked with us to provide special seating for a number of area Special Olympians who, perhaps more than any of us, represent the true Olympic spirit."

Employees of Kraft, both Harvest Market stores, and Vista Foods of Manchester and Laconia, N.H. were also on hand at the game.

The participating athletes were treated to free food brought to them at their seats, and received T-shirts with the message "Independents Rock," in keeping with a company theme saluting independent grocers throughout New England. Additionally, the Olympians received coupons for Kraft products. Altogether, Harvest Market's donations came to $5,000.

Both Harvest Market locations are owned and operated by AG Supermarkets, Inc., a subsidiary of Associated Grocers of New England. AG Supermarkets also operates Vista Foods stores, and Riverview in Woodsville, N.H.
