Harps Chooses Excentus Reward Marketplace for Fuel Control, Cross-Marketing

SPRINGDALE, Ark. -- Harps, a 47-store privately owned grocery retailer that operates here under the Harps Food Stores and Price Cutter Food Warehouse banners, plans to install a fuel cross-marketing solution as part of a technology upgrade at four of its fuel sites.

Harps will install the Reward Marketplace from Excentus for its ability to offer gasoline discounts, resulting in higher sales, greater top-line revenue, and increased market share. Another reason Excentus was chosen is that it can deliver an integrated solution to the NCR ACS point-of-sale system.

The first Harps fuel site to use the technology was Harps Food Store in Springdale, Ark., which began using the Excentus system Feb. 1, and the retailer plans to roll out the technology at three other sites shortly.

The marketing program in the store includes easily identifiable shelf talkers that inform customers of products eligible for fuel discounts. Customers see their discounts accumulate during checkout and then may redeem the discount at a fuel dispenser. The entire customer experience is fully integrated with the technology, creating an immediately redeemable reward and eliminating manually intensive processes.
