Giant-Landover Rolls Out Rx Savings Card

Giant Food LLC has launched the Giant Prescription Savings Card, which provides discounts on prescriptions and personalized savings throughout the store on health-and-wellness products.

“We are committed to meeting our customers’ health-and-wellness needs while offering outstanding value,” noted Gayle Shields, director of pharmacy operations at Landover, Md.-based Giant, a division of Ahold USA. “The Giant Prescription Savings Card will enable loyal customers to purchase the high-quality prescriptions and pet medications they need at a fraction of the price.”

The card can be used for any prescriptions that a customer pays for out-of pocket, and those with health insurance coverage can use the card for any prescriptions not covered by their insurance. A one-time enrollment fee of $10 per household is required to get a card. As a thank-you for joining, customers will receive $10 off a future grocery purchase.

Cardholders pay $3.99 for a 30-day supply and $9.99 for a 90-day supply of select generic medications. Further pharmacy savings will be offered to cardholders at various times during the year on such items as flu shots and diabetes testing supplies.
