Giant-Carlisle Ups Promotion Contract Efficiency With TradePoint Solutions
CARLISLE, Pa. -- Giant Food Stores, LLC here is in the process of rolling out an online promotional allowance solution from Pleasanton, Calif.-based TradePoint to negotiate and track its promotion-related deals. TradePoint has allowed Giant Food to raise operational efficiency and reduce processing costs throughout the retailer's deal management business system.
Since replacing their paper process with TradePoint's online business applications in a pilot program, both vendors and the Giant Food merchandising team have real-time, online access to promotion information, which has led to better collaboration and faster promotional negotiations.
"TradePoint Solutions enable us to more quickly coordinate our promotions and efficiently negotiate allowances across all vendors," said Giant Food v.p. of merchandising support Ron Domenick in a statement. "TradePoint has improved our workflow and provides us with the actionable information we need to manage our promotional process."
Added Dan Shinner, Kraft Foods senior customer business manager for Giant Food: "We've recognized significant time savings and increased accuracy coming from this program. TradePoint will allow more time for both business managers and category managers to collaborate and drive more effective promotions."
Production implementation and training began in June, and Giant Food plans to have all vendors negotiating promotional offers online by December.
Giant Food Stores, one of four retail-operating companies under Ahold USA, currently operates 103 stores as Giant Food Stores, 119 stores as Tops Markets, and 25 stores as Martin's Food Markets. With almost 40,000 employees, Giant serves a six-state market area.
