Giant-Carlisle Names New Director of Operations & Merchandising
Giant Food Stores, LLC has promoted Doug Sternberger to the position of director of operations and merchandising in the East Region. Sternberger will assume responsibility for the company’s newly formed District 15, which encompasses Exton, Limerick, North Coventry, Lionville, Phoenixville, Pottstown, Reading and Thorndale.
Since joining Giant in 1980, Sternberger has risen through the ranks from the front end service department to grocery to perishables and then to store management. In 2006, he became general store manager. His most recent position was grocery specialist for the East Region.
Carlisle, Pa.-based Food Stores, LLC operates stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia under the Giant Food Stores, Martin's Food Markets, and FoodSource banners.
