Fresh Market Celebrates Latest Remodel with Jazz and BBQ

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Fresh Market, a growing specialty grocer based here, is set to celebrate its latest expansion and remodel today in Farragut, Tenn. with an evening outdoor barbeque celebration, complete with live jazz band and sampling stations.

The Fresh Market helped pioneer business development in Farragut, a community west of Knoxville, in 1993 when it first opened the location. Its newly remodeled store "will better serve Farragut's thriving community," said Craig Carlock, Fresh Market's s.v.p. of operations, in a statement.

Some of the store's new features include European fixtures that frame the meat and seafood counters, enhanced lighting, a deli island with a larger selection of prepared foods, improved produce displays with more organics and variety, and a larger, strategically designed sales floor which increases the store's fragrant floral and coffee aromas.

In addition to the opening day "After Hours BBQ," the store will host a variety of opening week activities that include a complimentary outdoor BBQ with professional chefs and baby-back ribs, sampling stations, a free coffee brick to the first 1,000 customers, and a live jazz band.

The Fresh Market is a privately held company that has grown to 57 stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Alabama, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, and Virginia. The company has plans to open 10 to 12 new stores each year.
