Fresh & Easy Launches School Fundraiser

Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market has launched a school fundraising program called "Shop for Schools.” For every $20 spent at a Fresh & Easy store, participating schools can get a $1 cash donation.

All eligible kindergarten through 8th grade schools within a three-mile radius of a Fresh & Easy store can participate in the program, according to the company.

“With school budgets increasingly under pressure, our customers are looking for ways to help raise money," said Tim Mason, c.e.o. of El Segundo, Calif.-based Fresh & Easy, a division of U.K. grocer Tesco. "We created Shop for Schools to be part of the solution and give back to the neighborhood. The money raised can be used on whatever each school needs most -- like books, sports equipment, instruments, or computers. The more customers shop at Fresh & Easy, the more money they can raise for their schools.”

Shop for Schools will run from Feb. 1 through March 31. Eligible schools have been sent a registration form to participate in the program and must register by Jan. 23.
