Former Pepsi Exec to Head Cott's U.S. Beverage Business
TORONTO - Store brand beverage maker Cott named Robert Flaherty, an 18-year veteran of the beverage industry, as president of its Tampa, Fla.-based U.S. business unit as of Jan. 3. He was also named an e.v.p. of Cott.
Flaherty's experience includes 18 years at Pepsico and The Pepsi Bottling Group, where his roles involved finance, strategic planning, sales and marketing and general management of a number of U.S. business units. Most recently, he ran a consulting company, providing services to corporate clients and private equity firms.
Cott president and c.e.o. John Sheppard took on day-to-day responsibility for the U.S. business unit, in addition to his c.e.o. duties, on an interim basis in October while a search was conducted for a president of the American unit. Paul Richardson, previously responsible for the U.S. unit, was named this year to the position of e.v.p., global sourcing.
