Football Nation Offers Tailgate Contest
Football Nation LLC has launched its inaugural Tailgate Recipe of The Year Contest. The competition kicked off in conjunction with the gridiron-fan website’s TV special “A Thanksgiving Tailgate,” hosted by Kelly Malone and Kerry Byrne, food writer and founder of Football Nation’s ColdHardFootballFacts.com.
The special “shows millions of Turkey Day tailgaters how to put on a total Thanksgiving feast – deep-fried turkey and all,” explained Andrew Miller, founder and president of Newton, Mass.-based Football Nation. “This contest will allow tailgaters the opportunity to show us their game-day talents.”
Football and tailgating aficionados across the United States can enter recipes and optional photos of the completed dish, with the grand-prize winner receiving a party for 10 in honor of the Super Bowl, set for Feb. 5, 2012. The top prize will also include a tailgate meal for 10 From Austin, Texas-based Whole Foods Market, delivered by Football Nation; a 46-inch flat-screen TV; Harpoon Brewery’s “Everything But the Beer” tailgate package; and Mr. Bar-B-Q’s Collegiate Grill Mat and Grill Cover, along with the brand’s 30 Piece Barbecue Tool Set and Grill Accessories.

The contest runs through Monday, Dec. 12 at 11:59 p.m. EST. The top 10 finalists will be selected on that day and the Footballnation.com community will be able to vote for the best recipe. Voting ends Jan. 1, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. EST, and the grand-prize winner will be revealed during that month.
