Food Lion Joins UCCnet Community
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - UCCnet, a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization that provides item registration and global data synchronization based on industry developed standards, announced today that Food Lion will utilize the organization's business-to-business Internet-based services.
Food Lion, which operates more than 1,200 grocery stores in 11 states and sells more than 24,000 different products, is currently in the process of integrating UCCnet services throughout their enterprise. The company is calling upon their suppliers to utilize UCCnet services to integrate standards throughout the trading community.
"UCCnet's collaborative commerce services will enable us to bring added efficiency to our trading community by reducing the amount of incorrect item information among our suppliers," said Lewis Campbell, vice president of procurement, Food Lion. "By integrating data synchronization, Food Lion and its suppliers will be able to speak a common language electronically with regard to product information."
