Food Lion Campaign Benefits Children's Miracle Network
SALISBURY, N.C. – All of Food Lion's 1,220 stores are participating in the "Food Lion for the Children" campaign this month to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). Food Lion shoppers can participate by purchasing paper CMN balloons for $1 each.
CMN is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children by raising funds and awareness for 170 children's hospitals. Every dollar given during Food Lion’s campaign will support a nearby children’s hospital. The $1 CMN paper balloons are scannable at the register and will be added to the customer's total bill and shown on the receipt for easy record keeping.
Food Lion supports 31 CMN hospitals in its 11-state operations area. Over the last 14 years, Food Lion has raised more than $18 million for CMN. In 2004, Food Lion raised and contributed more than $2.1 million to CMN hospitals.
