Felpausch Supermarkets Deploy Tomax Time and Attendance Solution
HASTINGS, Mich. -- Felpausch Food Centers here is working with Salt Lake City-based Tomax Corp. to deploy the new Retail.net Time and Attendance (TA) solution across Felpausch's 20-store grocery chain, the first time this solution has been deployed.
The Retail.net TA solution will complement existing Retail.net modules for long-term budgeting and planning, labor forecasting, staff scheduling, and labor visibility.
Retail.net TA is a solution designed expressly for retailers, from the simplest capture of hours worked to automatic application of complex pay rules. It will provide Felpausch store managers with quick and easy-to-use tools that help maximize labor resources. These tools include exception-based editing and timecard approval that streamline the weekly payroll process, and proactive alerts and workflow notifications that identify business situations needing manager intervention and then suggest the recommended action.
"It's our largest controllable expense. Having had success with Tomax's scheduling solution for several years, when we found out that they were building Time and Attendance as part of their Workforce Management solution we had to see it. Knowing the competition, we are impressed with what we see in the new Retail.net Time and Attendance solution," said Felpausch c.i.o. Michael Hubert in a statement.
"We eliminate the integration between our time and attendance and scheduling products. Instead, we offer an organically developed single solution that is more efficient and focused than competitive approaches based on component integration," noted Tomax v.p. of workforce solutions Randy Park.
Tomax has created a pay rules engine enabling retailers to tailor pay rules to their requirements. This process doesn't require custom programming or configuration management, or the accompanying overhead and complexity. Each pay rule is effective-dated, permitting the development of complex, scheduled pay rules management.
Additionally, all Tomax Retail.net solutions are delivered in a thin-client deployment model, allowing customers thin-client lifecycle cost savings and ownership advantages. The entire solution is based on the standard J2EE software development model, the most advanced, scalable work force solution available to retailers.
More than 100 retailers currently use Tomax solutions, including grocers Raley's Supermarkets, Safeway, ShopRite, Trader Joe's, United Supermarkets, and Winn-Dixie.
