Eurofresh Farms, CHEP Bolster Relationship

Eurofresh Farms and CHEP have inked a new long-term pact for pallet and container pooling services. Eurofresh now employs CHEP pallets to transport tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers from its Willcox and Snowflake, Ariz., facilities to supermarket retailers and wholesale clubs across the United States.

Prior to converting exclusively to CHEP in 2002, Eurofresh used one-way disposable pallets to transport product to market but subsequently switched gears to better address customer requests for a higher-quality, more consistent pallet, as well as further improve its environmental leadership.

"CHEP provides us with an easy-to-use shipping platform solution that our customers prefer and that is environment-friendly," said Kees Rodenburg, Eurofresh Farms' GM. "We have also seen significant productivity improvements with the CHEP program and enjoy working with their highly professional team."

Eurofresh Farms is a leading year-round producer and marketer of greenhouse tomatoes in the United States and an innovator in the branded, high-end fresh tomato, cucumber and pepper industry.
