Election Celebrations Boost Sparkling Wine Sales at Fresh & Easy

Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market's sparkling wine sales more than doubled on Election Day, as voters celebrated the historic victory by Barack Obama. 

"We offer fantastic quality wines and champagnes at budget prices," said Simon Uwins, c.m.o.  "People were able to commemorate a historic election with style without breaking the bank."

The Tesco-owned grocer carries eleven different varieties of sparkling wines, including five of which are specially selected specifically for the retailer. Seven of these wines retail for under $10.

The best selling bubbly for Election Day was private label Fresh & Easy Montcadi Cava, which retails for under $7. Fresh & Easy, which offers more than 160 wines, has been recognized with nearly 60 wine awards for its own-brand wines that are specially blended with the help of a certified master of wine.
