Dollar Tree to Rebanner Deals Stores
Dollar Tree Inc. has announced plans to convert 217 of its 222 Deals stores to its Dollar Tree banner, with the remaining five to be rebranded as Family Dollar stores.
The Deals store conversions are expected to be completed by the end of July 2016.
"This initiative to re-brand our Deals stores enhances our ability to focus on our two primary banners, Dollar Tree and Family Dollar, while improving efficiencies throughout our business," said Bob Sasser, CEO of the Chesapeake, Va.-based discounter.
Dollar Tree acquired the 138 Deals locations in 2006, and has since expanded the chain to its 222 stores across 19 states.
The company more recently acquired more than 8,200 Family Dollar stores in July of this year, at least 150 of which will also be converted to the Dollar Tree banner, by the end of this month. More of these conversions are slated for 2016.
"We are very pleased with our progress on the Family Dollar integration, as we continue to focus on growing our business while creating long-term shareholder value," Sasser added.
Dollar Tree operates more than 13,864 stores across 48 states and five Canadian provinces.
