Dierbergs Hosts 'Biggest Loser' Chef

Perseverance and sweat equity may be the apparent key to success of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” contestants, but behind the scenes some of that weight-loss success can be attributed to chef Cheryl Forberg.

A James Beard award-winning chef, registered dietitian and New York Times bestselling author, Forberg will meet customers and sign copies of her latest cookbook, "Flavor First," at Dierbergs Des Peres on on Friday afternoon.

Forberg has shared her expertise in nutrition and healthy recipe development in several books. She individually counseled "The Biggest Loser" contestants on how to transform their eating and cooking habits — consequently helping to change their lives.

In keeping with her healthy eating initiatives, Forberg is a spokesperson for Avocados from Mexico, sponsor of her St. Louis visit. While in St. Louis, she is guest chef on Dierbergs Presents Everybody Cooks, a quarterly cooking show that will air locally June 3.

A limited number of line tickets are available for the book-signing event. Copies of "Flavor First" will be available at the event for $16.99.

Dierbergs Family Markets traces its roots to a country store formed in 1854 on Olive Boulevard in Creve Coeur. Today, Dierbergs Family Markets employs over 4,000 associates in 25 stores in St. Louis and St. Charles counties, Osage Beach, Mo., and Shiloh and Edwardsville, Ill.
