D'Agostino Appoints New V.P. of Store Operations

LARCHMONT, N.Y. - D'Agostino Supermarkets, Inc. here has promoted David D'Agostino to v.p. of store operations, replacing Peter Nero, who is retiring. The transition will take place at the end of December.

D'Agostino, currently director of online operations, joined the company in 1995 as a management trainee. He has worked extensively in store operations throughout his career at D'Agostino, holding deli manager, assistant manager, and store manager positions. He served as director of store operations for two years, working closely with Nero.

In the area of merchandising, D'Agostino has been responsible for deli/bake, HBA/GM, online operations, and most recently, advertising.

Nero has been with the company since 1959, when he was hired as a part-time cashier and delivery person. During his 47 years at D'Agostino, Nero held major management positions at store level, and then served as district manager and director of store operations before being promoted to v.p. of store operations in 1988.

D'Agostino, a family-owned and operated company, operates 22 supermarkets in the New York metropolitan area.
