Cub Unveils 3 Remodeled Stores

Minnesota and Illinois grocer Cub has renovated three stores in the northwest suburbs of Minneapolis. The Champlin, Brooklyn Park North and Brooklyn Park South locations now feature updated signage and design, expanded produce departments with a bigger organic selection, and more signature grab-and-go options, among other improvements.

“As our customers’ needs change, we continue to evolve with them,” noted Chad Ferguson, interim president of Stillwater, Minn.-based Cub, a division of Supervalu. “When our customers walk through the doors, they will discover new and improved Cubs that offer a larger selection of fresh options, updated interiors and more grab-and-go items for an enhanced shopping experience. What won’t change is our commitment to offer competitive pricing, strong event-based promotions and continued support to local nonprofits in our communities.”

Additional store features include:

  • A wider selection of fresh fruits and vegetables pre-cut in the store
  • Larger deli areas offering such items as sandwiches, salads and sushi; a broader selection of hot-meal solutions; and a new soup and salad bar with more variety. Customers will also find a greater assortment of fresh meats and specialty cheeses in deli
  • New display cases and lighting throughout the store interiors
  • Updated exterior facades
  • Additional self-checkouts
  • The addition of Kitchen Shoppes at both Brooklyn Park stores, offering a range of everyday kitchen cookware, utensils and supplies
  • A new dedicated Candy Shoppe at the Brooklyn Park South location
  • A 2,000-square-foot addition to the Wine & Spirits store at the Brooklyn Park South Cub
  • More customer seating at the Champlin store

Combined, the stores have about 210,000 square feet of retail space.
