Credit Manager Named at AG New England
Mitchell Merson has joined Associated Grocers of New England as credit manager. "Mitchell comes to AG New England with more than 31 years of credit and collections experience," noted controller Cynthia Caldwell. "His industry knowledge includes managing credit departments in manufacturing, distribution and financial services."
Merson replaced Tammy Reed, who has left the company.
In his most recent position, Merson was responsible for all accounts receivable functions at Keene, N.H.-based C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc. Before that, he handled credit approval for Zimmerman Partners Advertising in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and was owner/operator of Miami's MJM Credit Services. Merson also directed the credit and collections departments of A&E Products Group in Princeton, N.J.; and Gailey and Lord in New York, and was VP of Midlantic Commercial in West Paterson, N.J., and of Heller Financial in New York.
Owned entirely by independent retail grocers as members of a cooperative, Pembroke, N.H.-based AG New England is the largest retailer-owned wholesale grocery distribution center in New England. The company serves independent retail food stores in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and the upstate New York/Albany area.
