Celebrating Autumn, PG Style

Much as it is for many of our valued readers, autumn marks one of the busiest and most special times of the year for Progressive Grocer. As we proudly celebrate our selection of ShopRite/Wakefern Food Corp. as our 2011 Retailer of the Year, we are also gearing up to honor our Top Women in Grocery (TWIG) at our upcoming gala event set for Nov. 3, at the lovely InterContinental Chicago O’Hare.

Our Top Women in Grocery honorees are indeed a very special bunch, and we’re going all out this year to create an exceptionally memorable event to pay tribute to all that our “winning women” do year-round to advance the food industry, their companies and the communities that they serve in countless admirable ways.

We are especially delighted to report that our Top Women in Grocery gala will be emceed by none other than Marie Quintana, SVP, multicultural sales for PepsiCo Inc., who was once again named as one our 2011 TWIG winners, along with 140 other winners -- many of whom we are equally delighted to report will also be on hand with us on Nov. 3, along with other industry luminaries from both the retail and supplier sector.
