Catfish Company Taps Whole Foods Seafood Veteran
AYDEN, N.C. -- Longtime Whole Foods seafood coordinator Joe Stofer has joined Carolina Classics Catfish, Inc. here as director of retail sales.
Stofer has spent two-thirds of his 30-year food career with Whole Foods Market. For the past 13 years Stofer led the seafood program for the chain's Southeast and then Mid Atlantic region, and was integral in developing the only antibiotic and mammalian byproduct-free farmed catfish, Carolina Classics Natural Catfish.
While Stofer will focus efforts on sales development within retail chain accounts, longtime Carolina Classics manager Doug Doering, a 25-year seafood and foodservice industry veteran, becomes director of foodservice and distributor sales.
