Cambridge, Minn. Country Market Converts to Cub Foods
CAMBRIDGE, Minn. -- Mark and Linda Olson and Amy Boettcher, co-owners of County Market here, will convert their store into a Cub Foods by late February.
"Since we opened our store in 1959, our goal has been to serve Cambridge-area residents in the best way we could," said Mark Olson. "Our partnership with Cub allows us to continue to fulfill that goal by providing even greater selection and value to our customers."
Olsen said the store will be remodeled and expanded to approximately 60,000- sq.-ft. beginning this spring to accommodate the additional services offered by Cub. All employees at the County Market will be retained when the conversion is complete.
"As a Minnesota-based organization, we're very excited about opening a Cub Foods store in Cambridge," said Brian Huff, president of Cub Foods. "We're anxious to be a part of the community and provide local residents with the value, selection and convenience enjoyed by other Cub customers."
In addition to innovative natural, ethnic and certified organic food sections, Cub Foods offer shoppers added conveniences, such as in-store pharmacy and banking. Established in 1968 as one of the nation's first discount grocery stores, Cub Foods is a subsidiary of Minneapolis-based Supervalu and currently operates 52 stores in the Twin Cities.
