Calif. Tree Fruit 90-Day Challenge Kicks Off Today

Reedley, Calif. -- The California Tree Fruit Agreement's 90-Day Challenge kicks-off on today with sign-ups at http://www.eatcaliforniafruit.com. The challenge will encourage consumers to track their daily servings of fresh fruit, including California peaches, plums and nectarines, along with new features for 2006 including Monday e-mails featuring a health, beauty or nutrition tip; Thursday e-mails providing a healthy recipe featuring fresh California peaches, plums and nectarines; recipes and tips from two-time gold medalist Summer Sanders; and "The Pit Stop," a weekly opportunity to earn free iTunes downloads.

The 90-Day Challenge is a program encouraging individuals to beautify themselves from the inside out by incorporating fresh and healthy California peaches, plums and nectarines into their diet and beauty routine.

Last year's inaugural 90-Day Challenge attracted more than 2,000 participants and the 2006 edition promises to be even more exciting. This year, participants will have the opportunity to win free iTunes downloads, as they point and click their way to a healthier summer with the 90-Day Challenge, developed by the California Tree Fruit Agreement.

"Now is the perfect time to make healthy lifestyle changes," said gold medallist and CTFA spokesman Summer Sanders. "The 90-Day Challenge is a great opportunity to stay motivated this summer and also try great recipes featuring fresh California peaches, plums and nectarines."

The California Tree Fruit Agreement (CTFA) administers marketing order programs on behalf of California's 2,000 fresh peach, plum and nectarine growers. The CTFA also includes the PPN Network, a strategic marketing resource for the peach, plum and nectarine industry that delivers information and marketing expertise to growers, shippers, retailers, and serves as a resource for the media.
